Caring for Every Woman – Helping a Friend

Just “being there” is important if you are the friend of someone who thinks she might be pregnant. Being pregnant can be scary to someone if she does not know about resources, has a support system, or know what to expect. Each situation is different, so there are no easy answers, but listening and not judging is very important. It can be very helpful to your friend mentally and emotionally to know that you are there for her.

Direct your friend to a resource center like Pregnancy Support Center if she is seeking answers. Offer to go with her if you can. At Pregnancy Support Center, we look at the whole person—and help her to understand her options. She needs to know that she has a support system that will assist her in finding resources. That is why we are here.
